Hi, my name is Lauren, and I am a Trauma-Informed Coach, Intuitive Eating Counselor, and E-RYT Yoga Instructor. I help women heal their relationships with body image, food, fitness, and ultimately-- self worth.

The “summer body” pressure coupled with seeing people you haven’t seen in over a year in a lot less clothing you were wearing during quarantine definitely breeds anxiety.

Healing body image in the comfort of your own home feels safe. You are around people you trust, you are in clothing that feels good, and you have the space to use the tools you have learned to work through the body thoughts.

When we leave that safety, bad body image can increase. This is normal. We are seeing triggers we haven’t seen in over a year— the opinions of others, people’s bodies in general, bad body talk that happens in everyday life, the pressure to wear certain clothing this type of year. Again, it all makes sense. Normalizing that does not mean you are going backwards in your healing. It just means that you are dealing with a new set of circumstances right now.
