Ready to connect back to yourself, regulate your emotions, and start to understand that you make sense?
This self-paced course will help walk you through 4 guideposts in your healing journey. Starting with learning to understand the nervous system, the nuance of greeting self-compassion with self-agency, realizing how stress and trauma are stored in the body, and finally, creating and navigating close relationships while supporting your own healing.
Does this sound like you?
You wake up in the morning and already feel like your to-do list is too long. You feel anxious all the time but don’t know why. You feel restless and agitated even though all you want to do is sleep.
You are curious about emotional health work but aren’t ready to fully invest or commit to a long program. You have a busy schedule and wear a lot of different hats in your life.
You’re emotionally distant to those around you and have a hard time letting your guard down or..god forbid, *be vulnerable*. The thought of vulnerability automatically creates chaos inside of you and you have difficulty creating meaningful relationships with people.
You struggle to feel joy. You often see the world from a glass half empty point of view and struggle to see the good in everyday life.
You struggle with negative self talk. Even when you do accomplish something, you can’t celebrate yourself and you go right to picking yourself apart.
You are really curious about healing, but the financial and time investment has felt overwhelming to you. You really want to dip your toes into it before committing all the way.
You are a busy person who doesn’t have a lot of time in your week to dedicate to yourself, but you also crave a space where you can open up. You often give your all to other people, and a part of you really wants to create some space for you.
Hi, I’m Lauren Rasmussen (she/her), the founder of The Simplest Self and creator of Bite Sized Healing.
As humans first, and also practitioners, who have walked through our own trauma and lived experiences, Bite Sized Healing was created as a means to make mental health - this deeply healing work - accessible to all. Through being a survivor of childhood SA, experiencing extreme self hate and shame; and coping with my pain by engaging in addictive patterns to escape, all I wanted to do was run away.
Despite experiencing so much pain, something in me wanted to survive. Something in me wanted more. I wanted to heal. I wanted to feel calm. I wanted to feel joy. I simply wanted to feel.
I learned that I disconnected from my body as a way to survive the abuse I was going through as a child. I learned that it then made sense that as I grew up, I continued to do things to keep me out of my body. And that as I learned to reconnect with my body and heal, that would feel unsafe at first.
It made sense. I made sense. Once I made space for why I did the things that I did to survive, it allowed me to move through the big emotions, regulate my nervous system, and learn to be in relationship to others and trust. After going through my own self healing journey, I knew I wanted to hold space for others to do the same.
I now live a fulfilled life with my husband and 2 cat babies in Canada as I run our online coaching practice, The Simplest Self. Our mission at The Simplest Self is to help you create a life that you feel brave living. Our mission is to help you relearn your relationship to past survival strategies so you can reach your full potential.
Our values are rooted in safety, curiosity, empowerment & inclusion–just to name a few. To read the full list of our core values, you can click here.
This program is designed to help you find and create a safe space to start to heal your trauma and move through emotions, while also healing attachment wounds and nervous system regulation.
Bite Sized Healing is for anyone ready who recognizes that something simply doesn’t feel right. Maybe you have read all the self-help books and watched all the TikToks, but you still struggle to implement the knowledge into your own daily life. Or perhaps you are interested in learning about how what you experienced in childhood impacts you as an adult. You don’t necessarily want to rehash old trauma, but you DO want to understand why you are the way you are so you can begin to HEAL.
